The improvement of residential complexes requires not random elements, but well-thought-out, aesthetic, and functional solutions. A place for conversations, an area where you can watch children play, a corner for working in the fresh air—all this can be organized in the space next to the residential complex. How to choose the right outdoor furniture:

Material and durability

The space is used every day: benches, tables, trash cans — everything must withstand rain, sun, winter, and the most active children. Furniture should be made of high-quality, durable materials so that you don't have to look for and manufacture new ones after a year.

Ergonomics and comfort

People should want to sit here: height, backrest, comfort, good visibility — all of this is important.

Safety and accessibility

The space should be accessible to everyone: people with strollers, people with limited mobility, tired or energetic people. Furniture should not stand in the way of movement or block pedestrian routes.

Style, integration with architecture, durability

Ideally, the furniture should harmonize with the facade and courtyard of the complex — becoming part of the space, not a foreign element

Functionality and usage scenarios

Think about it: will there be a relaxation area, a social area, perhaps an area for children or young people? Benches + tables + trash cans + greenery — create different scenarios, and it is important that people want to be in these “scenarios.”

All these details are really important. Modern, interesting spaces are no longer just about a bench under the entrance.

We recommend designating a recreation area: benches around the perimeter of green spaces, perhaps opposite a playground or café. It is also worth ensuring, if possible, that there are enough places to rest: benches or chairs.

It is worth adding street planters — which will become something more than just decoration. Flower pots help to structure the space, dividing it into zones: recreation, passage, playground, or coffee point. They perform several functions at once:

  • • add green accents and naturalness to dense development;
  • • act as physical barriers for safety (for example, between the road and the recreation area);
  • • can be modular, integrated with benches or trash cans.

It is also important to consider the use of space in different seasons: benches under the shade of trees, protection from rain/wind (for example, under a canopy or gazebo).

Bicycle infrastructure in the yard is not a trend, but a standard for modern residential complexes.

Modern residents often use bicycles and scooters. The presence of high-quality bicycle racks near the entrances is an indicator of the developer's concern for comfort and ecological mobility.

Consider operation and maintenance: easy-to-clean materials, installation of fasteners, replacement of parts, if necessary.

Remember about inclusivity: sufficient space for movement around the furniture, accessibility for people with strollers and wheelchairs.

Harmony of style: the choice of color and style of furniture should enhance the design of the complex, for example, match the facade and landscaping.

Logistics: choose a supplier that provides installation and warranty — this approach minimizes problems after installation.

Scenarios for using the space

Before choosing furniture, it is important to understand how residents will use it:

  • • Short rest area — benches along the paths
  • • Children's playground — furniture for parents nearby
  • • Green area — benches with flower pots that create a micro-space for communication
  • • Entrance or coffee point — tables and seats with shade.

Furniture should not just “be there,” but should work for comfort, socialization, and community.
