Ukrainian cities and investment in urban improvement

Today, as Ukraine fights for its independence, as so many of our men and women give their time, health, and lives for victory, we must take care of their lives and comfort when they return home.

It is essential that urban space is accessible to everyone. This is especially important now, during the war, and it will become an even higher priority once our defenders return home.

As we rebuild Ukrainian cities, we have the opportunity to make them inclusive and comfortable for all groups of the population. We design street furniture to be convenient for people of different ages, with different physical abilities and ways of moving around. It is not only about ramps. We also consider the proper width of benches and armrests, tactile guidance systems, different seat heights, zoning for children and older people, and more.

By taking into account the needs of different groups, we change not only the appearance of a space but also its role within the social structure of the city.

Veteran-led business that transforms cities

Modern Ukrainian cities need comfortable, safe, and functional public spaces. The Fix Street Furniture team creates street furniture, lighting, and other elements of urban improvement that help cities become more accessible and welcoming, from rest areas near rehabilitation centers to modern playgrounds, memorial spaces, and solutions for people with prosthetics. And there should be more and more inclusive spaces like these.

We strive to develop and improve the public realm in Ukrainian cities, and we are able to implement our ambitious plans in part thanks to grant support from the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation. This support allowed FIX to begin modernizing production, including the introduction of a hybrid laser machine that opens up opportunities to create more complex structures, speed up production, and implement more innovative urban solutions.

Importantly, this equipment also enables us to create jobs for veterans and people with disabilities, providing them with the opportunity to work in a safe and adapted environment, receive training, and take part in shaping modern urban spaces.

Ahead lie new challenges and ambitious plans: developing innovative models of street furniture, participating in international exhibitions, and actively contributing to the rebuilding of Ukrainian cities.
