Fix Street Furniture AR App: A New Level of Interaction with Urban Furniture

At the beginning of 2025, Fix Production and Project Union took a major step in its digital transformation by launching the development of a mobile application based on augmented reality (AR), enabling users to visualize street furniture in real spaces before it is installed. The project was implemented with the support of the European Union under the SILEO – Supporting recovery and business transformation of lighting & furniture SMEs for the Europe Industry of Tomorrow programme

What can our AR app do?
- select a product model from the digital catalog; 
- scale, rotate, and position it in real space; 
- adjust the metal color and wood finish

The application supports both vertical and horizontal screen orientation and is fully adapted for various device types, including smartphones and tablets
 

Digital and Green Transition in Action
By adopting AR, we are reducing the need for physical prototypes and accelerating the approval process between designers, architects, and clients. 
The result is: 
- lower production and logistics costs; 
- reduced emissions and material use; 
- improved accuracy of visualization and faster decision-making. T
his app is part of Fix Union’s broader strategy for integrating circular practices and advancing sustainable urban design

What has already been achieved?
During the first phase of the project, we have: 
- developed an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) featuring 10 key models; 
- created a responsive mobile interface; 
- tested the functionality with internal and external users; 
- laid the groundwork for future expansion
What’s next?
Our next steps include converting the full Fix Union product catalog into AR format, expanding customization features, building a complete product database, and adding admin functionality with automation tools for adding new models. A public launch is also planned, making the app available for private clients, architects, and municipalities
